the robot voice box
I recently experienced a life altering event. It has scarred me and scared me for life. I was innocently packing little pills into blister packs during my regular exciting Sunday at Pharmasave when I heard a strange and alarming voice. IT sounded like a Star Wars character gone haywire, yet it was asking for a perscription. I looked up in alarm to see a small wrinkly old man (not so uncommon for Summerland and not so exciting either) but the thing about this guy is that he had what looked like a cross between an electric shaver and one of our barcode scanners. It was his voice, literally. He held it up to his throat, and voice box i'm assuming, and instead of the words coming out of his mouth they came out of the shaving scanner. The little machine said his words as he said them, only in a scary robotic voice. Being unsure of how sensitive this man was I pretended to ignore it, secretly hoping he'd talk again so I could sneek another peek at the 'voice' He spoke and I sneeked. Then he left and I continued to pack pill after countless pill, with the sneeking suspicion that Dale the pharmacist was secretly laughing at me.
